European business schools have been ranked by financial times in 2008. Only those European business schools were considered which were accredited by either AACSB, Equis or Amba. Moreover, the business school should have been running for a minimum of four years. Points were also given to publications of the faculty in calculating the rankings of the european business schools. Another important factor in computing ranking of european business school was that the business school should have graduated minimum 30 students atleast 3 years prior to when the rankings are being calculated.

Harvard Business School (HBS) has recently come up with 2+2 program to admit undergraduate students to it’s prestigious MBA program. Students apply to this program when they are still in college. If admitted to Harvard Business School, the students are required to work for 2 years before they start the MBA program at HBS. Outlook has published a list of 75 top engineering colleges in India. List of top engineering colleges was made by judging the engineering colleges on four parameters – quality of teaching, selection process, placements, infrastructure. Recruiters were asked to rate engineering colleges on these four parameters to arrive at top engineering colleges. This is where subjective judgement comes into play. We think that if Outlook did this exercise again with the same set of recruiters it will come up with different rankings of top engineering colleges. So in our opinion this ranking of top engineering colleges, and all other rankings, should be only used as a rough guide for selecting the best engineering college for admission.
