• All AC class passengers need to carry ID proof now

It seems Indian Railway really wants to control the menace of fradulent bookings. First they make the guidelines for tatkal ticket booking more stringent, now they have tightened the norms for AC ticket bookings. All passengers travelling in AC coaches will now have to carry a valid Id proof, even those who have booked their tickets on railway counters.

Uptil now only those who had either booked a tatkal ticket or were carrying e-tickets were required to carry Id proofs. But as we said now all AC ticket holders will need Id proofs during the journey. Id proofs that are required are the same as before. Also, if more than one passenger are travelling on physical ticket (the one booked on the counter) atleast one passenger is required to have the Id proof. Needless to say if you don’t have the ID proof all passengers travelling on the ticket will be considered travelling without ticket.
