• Travelling to London on a budget

london-passIf you have to spend a 10 day vacation in London, what do you think is the minimum amount needed for this trip? Serial traveler Matthew Kepnes has managed to enjoy a 10 day trip for $700, which is about Rs 28,000. This amount included his airfare, hotel, food, sight seeing. The best part about Matthew’s London trip is that he has not compromised on comfort or quality. I totally agree with Matthew on this. Since you travel to have a good experience there is no point in saving few thousands at the cost of having a memorable experience.

For booking flight tickets he has used his frequent flier miles. Most of us may not have sufficient frequent flier miles to book a return ticket to London. But all other tips offered by Matthew can be practiced by any traveller to London. His tips about transportation in London are especially helpful.

For transportation to Heathrow airport, I took the Heathrow express to get into the city (18.50 GBP) and the London Underground to get out (5 GBP). Around the city, I loaded my oyster card (metro card) for unlimited use within Zones 1-3 for 7 days at a cost of 32.20 GBP.
