It happens to all of us – we get a little careless and we easily loose our mobile phone, reading spectacles and a lot of other stuff at the airport. In case you loose your belongings on an Indian airport you can now search for it online. CISF, the central security agency, which provides security at the airports publishes a daily list of all the items found by the security personnnel at the airport. To search for lost items go to www.cisf.gov.in and select the airport and a travel date. You will see a list of all the items that have found by the CISF at that airport. If you find your lost item in this list call the contact numbers at the bottom of the page and initiate the process for retriving your goods.
This list is update for each airport in about 24 hour time frame. So information about stuff lost on 12th Oct will be updated on 13th Oct around noon. So you can search only after this time. Also, finding your lost item on this list does not gaurantee that you will get it. As per CISF website:
“CISF is just facilitating the passengers to locate their lost items. The items shown here have been handed over to concerned Airport Operator. CISF is not responsible in case an item could not be retrieved”What are the most frequently lost items at the airport?
