Yes at least in IT and quantitative oriented circles, but the brand is in decay given some of the changes imposed by the Govt. that does not reward meritocracy, lowering of standards by the IITs themselves, and continued inability to attract top notch teaching talent. Most recent talent is “Kota processed” and doesn’t have the same caliber as the 80s and 90s, and early 00s.

Do not forget that the IIT alum network is a subset of the world and the world response will only be as strong as the response of the IIT alumni (first and foremost Brand Ambassadors). Each of us need to do more for our Alma Mater. There will always be “Yes…but…” response to this issue” and I am confident in the IIT crop of 90s and of this decade who were recruited by top notch firms and have done very well.

There is a sense of brand dilution as a result of new campuses all around the country (more access is good!) and it will be the task of local Institute leadership to maintain high standards of exacting commitment to excellence in order to produce high caliber all rounded stars.
