Search on aggregator sites. Easiest way to search for the cheapest ticket is to search on aggregator sites. Aggregator site searches cheap ticket for you across all airline websites. Example of aggregator sites are Yatra.com, Cleartrip, Travelociy etc.

Step 2

Book directly on airlines site. After you have identified the cheapest ticket for your travel date through step 1  go to the website of that airline. Do the search again on the airline website. The final price which you will see for the same ticket here will be less than the price on the aggregator site since aggregator sites add their commission to your final price.

Step 3

Try to use discount codes on airline sites while booking. Promotional codes can help you get discount upto Rs 500! Say for example, if you are booking your ticket on Spicejet’s website, you will see a field for entering ‘Spicy Code’. Do a quick search on google with keyword ‘spicy code’. You will see a couple of websites / forums that have spicy code values. Try using these codes on the Spicejet website. If you are lucky one of these codes might actually work and your ticket price might come down further.

Do not opt for insurance. By default airlines give you travel insurance and charge you around Rs 150 for this. Do not opt for this and you can bring down your ticket price even further
